You will need three things
1) A piece of string or something you can hold together around your dogs neck. (A necktie, scarf or a belt will also work). 2) A yardstick or measuring tape. 3) And your dog!
Have your dog sit calmly.
Hold the string with the tips of your fingers.
Place the string around your dogs neck to go completely around till your fingers meet.
Keep your fingers on the string.
Lay the string on the yardstick.
However many inches you measure is:
Your dogs neck and collar size!
